چکیده

The Ogee Spillway is one of the most crucial flood control structures, and it developed at same time as dams. Spillway's downstream portions experience scouring due to flow, a problem that persists in reality. This paper aims investigate hydraulic performance stepped block dissipater using three-dimensional simulation model. dissipated was given new distribution may be one, two, or three rows transverse arrangement right angle with path lines. numerical simulations for flow scour were performed computational fluid dynamics (CFD) ANSYS-Fluent software. Under Froude numbers ranging from 2.75 9.25, sequence depth velocity measured. According results, employed blocks minimized rates sediment throughout stilling basin line suggested distributions, particularly Fr 4.5-9.25 range. With values 0.95-0.98 range Correlation Coefficient (R 2 ) 0.43-0.45 Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) coefficient comparison experimental data looked good agreement. results proved configuration (A1, A2, A3) where A3 appeared reducing velocities within following A1 A2 especially 4.5-8.5. Also, stability jump observed when A3, while this difficult achieve by both A2.

Effects of End Sill and Step Slope on Stepped Spillway Energy Dissipation

In this study, experimental procedure and laboratory works have been conducted to investigate the energy loss rate on stepped spillway, using inclined steps together with end sill. To have a more elucidated investigation inclined steps with different slopes (Horizontal , 7, 10, and 12 degrees with respect to the horizon) and end sill with different thicknesses (5 and 10 mm) and heights (6, 8, 1...

Model Investigations of Stepped Spillway

Stepped block protection has considerable potential as a low-cost method for the construction of chute spillways and the protection of embankments from erosion by overtopping flow. Stepped spillways are structurally stable, resistant to water loads and significantly increase the rate of energy dissipation on the spillway face thus eliminating or greatly reducing the need for a large energy diss...

Influence of Slope and the Number of Steps on Energy Dissipation in Stepped Spillway Using Numerical Model

Recently the stepped spillways have been used as an appropriate solution for energy dissipation. In the present study, Siahbisheh dam spillway is simulated by using Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD), in which the Mixture method and Reynolds Stresses Model (RSM) turbulence model is used. In the first modeling series the over all steppes slope is constant. The number of the steps is increased to ...

Experimental Study of the Effect of Gabion Structure on the Energy Dissipation of Submerged Hydraulic Jump Downstream of Ogee Spillway

In the last decade, the use of gabion structures in hydraulic engineering for stabilizing the structure due to its high density and weight has become widespread. Also, the material's roughness and porosity cause it to be used in energy dissipation and drainage projects. This study evaluates the relative energy dissipation of gabion structures downstream of the ogee spillway in the conditions of...

Energy Dissipation down a Stepped Spillway with Non- Uniform Step Heights

While most stepped spillway design guidelines were developed for uniform step heights, a nonuniform stepped design might be a practical alternative in some cases. A physical study was conducted in a moderate slope stepped chute (1V:2H) and five stepped configurations were tested for 0.7 < dc/h < 1.9. Detailed air-water flow measurements were performed for each configuration and the results were...
